Otto is currently Design Director at LAAB in Hong Kong. LAAB is a collective of architects, artists, designers, and makers. Please visit for further information.

Prior to LAAB, Otto studied architecture at MIT, where he was the recipient of Full Tuition Scholarship, Alpha Rho Chi Medal and Schnitzer Artist Prize. He has also practiced in firms including Foster + Partners, Rogers Stirk Harbour + Partners, as well as Carlo Ratti Associati.

The work of Otto explores design possibilities between "bits" and "bricks", while seeing ecological design as a contemporary imperative. Recent work focuses on transforming materiality with robotic fabrication tools and computational modelling methods, leveraging material effect and performance.

In 2013, Otto was named as "40 under 40 Design Talents in Asia" by Perspective Magazine.
